$35 each plus $3 shipping within the USA or $16 shipping to Canada. You can also look online to find a retailer in your area that carries them, but selection is limited depending on the store.
They’ll be getting ‘INSPIRE’ keys. I was going to do a vote, but it would make it hard for people to write their blurb without knowing what the theme is.
Hey guys so I’m sure you probably know what Nerd HQ is but if not it’s this super cool event that Zachary Levi hosts during SDCC weekend and he gets a bunch of stars that you all love to come to these small panels of just like 200 people where the fans can really interact with the stars and ask them whatever questions they want. In the past he’s gotten Tom Hiddleston, Seth Green, Joss Whedon, Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Matt Smith, Nathan Fillion, Tatiana Maslany, Dylan O’brien, and more. The tickets are really cheap (just around $20) and other than the panels, the rest of the events are free.
Basically it’s just a really nice thing Zachary Levi organizes to reach out to fans and then he donates the money raised to Operation Smile, which he is an ambassador for. In the past he had corporate sponsorship to host the event but last year that didn’t work out so well so now he’s asking for our help to host Nerd HQ. Even if you can’t physically go there, he livestreams the panels and they’re always fun to watch for everyone. Now, since the corporate sponsoring didn’t really work out well last year, he’s asking for our help to run Nerd HQ. All he’s asking for is $5. Now I know, for some people $5 means a day’s meal, but if you can afford to spare $5 for a really good cause, you should donate it!
TESSA & SCOTT | Fist Bumps, Handshakes, and High Fives.
I got mine as a gift.
But after Googling for hours, I found out the mug has been discontinued as of 2012. You can find the same cup but in different colours on eBay. The last time I looked, someone was selling both green and yellow ones.
Tessa’s would be a pendant.
True, the letters would be similar, but I’m hoping for a more specific theme of inspired - whether it be the hard work/dedication they’ve put in through training, resilience and strength with Tessa’s injury - something that can really be answered in one or two sentences. I only kept the word limit to 150 for those who wished to delve deeper into their explanation.
That’s why I’m not calling it a scrapbook. My intentions are for the text to be short and for the text to be “light reading”. The pages are the size of index cards, if that helps to visualize. The key is the focus, the book is an accompaniment.
I hope that’s not too confusing. If there’s not a lot of people interested, I have no hard feelings and will ditch the book idea, it’s mainly about the key.
New York City - by: SamAlive
I have been given the opportunity to meet Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir at the Stars on Ice Meet & Greet, and through family/friend connection am possibly attending the warm up before the show. I will be gifting Tessa and Scott with a pair of The Giving Keys, however I’d like to open this up to any and all fans who would like to participate.
Note that this is NOT a scrapbook project. Fan letters and images can be sent to icedancingroyalty's project that can be found here.
The Giving Keys is a wonderful company that repurposes old, discarded, vintage keys by engraving them with an inspiring message and sells them as jewelry and accessories. The message on the key - whether is be ‘love’, ‘inspire’, ‘courage’, ‘believe’, etc. - is the yours for a time, however you are encouraged to give away the key at some point in the future to someone you believe needs the message; kind of like a pay it forward movement.
Tessa and Scott will be receiving ‘INSPIRE' keys, with Tessa's as the classic pendant and I will modify Scott's into a keychain.
Now here is where you come in, I will be putting together a small book to accompany the keys. It will explain the story behind why their keys say ‘INSPIRE’. Your job is to submit a SHORT paragraph with the theme of being ‘INSPIRED by Tessa and Scott’. You can briefly describe how/why you became a fan, what you love about them, what about them inspires you, thank them, etc.
- Submit a short paragraph of 150 words or less - ideally one or two sentences - with the theme of 'INSPIRED by Tessa and Scott' to either my ASK box or to email@example.com.
- Include your first name, the first letter of your last name, and where you are from.
- This is not a scrapbook, therefore only text will be accepted. No photos, fanart, etc.
- I will accept entries up until April 30th at 11pm PST.
- There is no cost to participate. I will be covering all costs of purchasing The Giving Keys and printing the books.Notes:
- Tessa and Scott will each receive their own book.
- The book, images, text, graphics, etc. will be created using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign. The book dimensions are approximately the size of of an index card, hence small book and not a scrapbook.
- Messages may be edited for content and length. Messages deemed disrespectful or inappropriate will either be edited or omitted from the book.
- This is open internationally and not limited to those on Twitter, Tumblr, or social media! So spread the word to family, friends, pets, etc.
